Hand-etched on the back with a makers mark, this circa 1960s-1970s pendant has a Native American style to it, but we cannot read the signature well enough to confirm the Artisan. This large pendant weighs approximately 58.16 grams and measures approximately 84.7 x 45.9 mm including the bale which can accommodate up to a 6.4 mm chain. This beautiful pendant has been cleaned but not polished, displaying a lovely dark patina that perfectly accents the white of the gemstone. The back of the stone is stained blue from wearing against clothing, likely a few jean jackets over the years.

White Buffalo, often mistakenly called "White Buffalo Turquoise," is a striking gemstone prized for its pure white hue contrasted with dark, intricate veining. Primarily mined in the Tonopah, Nevada region, this gemstone is actually composed of magnesite and alumite, rather than turquoise, which requires copper to gain its blue/green hues. Revered for its unique appearance and spiritual significance, particularly within Native American traditions, White Buffalo is believed to carry purifying and protective energies. Its captivating aesthetic makes it a popular choice for jewelry, where its distinctive patterns create eye-catching and culturally rich pieces.
