Gorgeous round-faceted natural Grandidierite mined in Madagascar, approximately 1.50 Carats and 7.92 x 7.83 x 4.37 mm. This beautiful semi-transparent to translucent gemstone has pale blue saturation, with medium-strong color zoning. This rare gemstone is new and ships in a gem jar.

Grandidierite is an exceptionally rare and highly coveted gemstone, primarily found in Madagascar. Its allure lies in its striking blue-green to green-blue coloration, a hue caused by the presence of iron impurities within its magnesium aluminum borosilicate composition. While typically transparent to translucent, the most valuable specimens exhibit a vivid, saturated color and excellent clarity. Grandidierite boasts a respectable hardness of 7.5 on the Mohs scale, making it suitable for jewelry, though its perfect cleavage requires careful cutting and setting. Its strong trichroism, displaying different shades from various angles, adds to its unique optical charm, making it a true collector's gem.
