Antique 14k White Gold Filigree Ring with Emerald Size 4
Beautiful solid 14k White Gold filigree ring with a prong set approximately .21 carat round-faceted natural Brazilian Emerald. Stamped '14k', with other stamps partialy worn away, this wonderful size 4 ring is in very good condition for being around 100 years old. The outer metal shows little wear, and the band is strong, but the beautiful green Emerald is starting to show its age with some mild abrasions. The top of the ring measures approximately 7.25 mm and tapers to just 1 mm at the bottom for comfortable wear.
Emerald, a highly prized gemstone, is a variety of the mineral Beryl, celebrated for its vibrant green hue. This color, caused by trace amounts of Chromium or Vanadium, ranges from bluish-green to pure green. Known for its inclusions, often referred to as "jardin," each emerald possesses a unique character. With a hardness of 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale, Emeralds are relatively durable, though their inclusions can make them susceptible to breakage. Highly valued for their beauty and rarity, Emeralds have captivated civilizations for centuries, serving as a classic symbol of rebirth and love.
