Vintage Large Sterling Silver Turquoise Watch Cuff Zuni Signed 7.25in Dark Patina Runs

  • $529.00

Stunning vintage handmade Sterling Silver cuff with an array of beautiful natural Turquoise teardrop-shaped cabochons set most of the way down the sides. The bracelet is approximately 66.5 mm (2.6 in) wide at the top, tapering to 9.8 mm at the bottom with inner dimensions of approximately 68 mm (2.7 in) wide and 46 mm (1.8 in) tall with a 36 mm (1.4 in) gap, creating an inner circumference of approximately 186 mm (7 1/4 in), Ladies size XL or Men's size M. This wonderful cuff displays a wonderful dark patina, has been cleaned but not polished, weighs approximately 101.33 grams and is in very good condition for its age. Even the vintage (although likely not original) manual wind Timex keeps accurate time, but it's hard to get to the crown to wind and set, and there is a folded piece of paper or card stock folded beneath it to keep it from clinking around. Signed 'Q & J Lee', the bracelet is of classic mid-century Native American Zuni Silversmith style and has been independently tested as Sterling Silver but we cannot confidently match the mark to any specific Silversmith.

Turquoise, an ancient and revered gemstone, is celebrated for its distinctive blue-green hues, ranging from sky blue to vibrant green. This opaque mineral, a hydrated phosphate of copper and aluminum, often features intricate matrix patterns, adding to its unique character. With a hardness of 5 to 6 on the Mohs scale, it's relatively soft, requiring gentle care. Historically significant in many cultures, particularly in Native American traditions, Turquoise is valued for its beauty and perceived protective qualities.
