Antique 10k Yellow Gold Ring with Sapphire Size 6.5
Gorgeous vintage early 1930's solid 10k Yellow Gold ring with a rare prong set .75 carat old cut round faceted lab created Purple Sapphire. The first viable synthetic sapphire was made in a labratory 1873 by French chemist Auguste Verneuil. By the early 1900s the flame fusion method further enhanced the creation process to finally produce small quantities of gems fine enough to facet for jewelry. Stamped '10k', this beautiful size 6.5 ring weighs approximately 1.79 grams and is in excellent condition especially for its age.
