  • $559.00

Stunning vintage solid 18k Yellow Gold Snake ring with a cap of Sterling Silver, set with 20 rough-cut natural Diamonds and 2 natural Spinels for eyes. This wonderful size 7.5 statement ring is adjustable in size, as the head and tail are connected only by the band. A vintage recreation inspired by antique jewelry, this classy ring weighs approximately 4.82 grams and is in excellent condition. The head-to-tail measures approximately 27.6 mm across, over the 3 mm wide band. The outside of the band has 3 stamped hallmarks - the Gold purity mark states the metal is '800' (80% pure Gold) - 19.2 karat, but we are calling it 18k for ease. The Diamonds are not traditionally faceted, rather 'cleaved', and we estimate the Diamond carat total weight at approximately .30-.35 ctw.

The Diamond, a true marvel of the mineral kingdom, is renowned for its exceptional brilliance, unparalleled hardness, and timeless beauty. Composed of pure carbon crystallized in an isometric system, its atomic structure grants it a remarkable Mohs hardness of 10, making it the most scratch-resistant natural substance on Earth. This inherent strength, combined with their high refractive index and dispersion, allows Diamonds to capture and scatter light with mesmerizing fire and scintillation, creating their iconic sparkle. Primarily sourced from ancient volcanic pipes called Kimberlites, Diamonds form deep within the Earth's mantle under immense pressure and heat before being brought to the surface. Beyond their widely recognized use in jewelry, where their resilience symbolizes enduring love and commitment, industrial-grade diamonds are vital for cutting, drilling, grinding, and polishing applications across numerous industries. Available in a spectrum of colors, from colorless to fancy yellows, pinks, blues, and more, each Diamond possesses a unique character, making it a highly coveted and scientifically fascinating gemstone.

Spinel, a gemstone with a rich history and vibrant color palette, is gaining well-deserved recognition. This gem, often mistaken for ruby in historical jewels, boasts a hardness of 8 on the Mohs scale, making it a durable choice for jewelry. Spinel occurs in a spectrum of hues, including vivid reds, blues, pinks, and purples, owing to trace elements. Its brilliance and lack of cleavage contribute to its exceptional sparkle. Once overshadowed, Spinel is now celebrated for its own unique beauty and rarity.
