Ideal for gifting or as a personal treat, this circa-1950s ring is a must-have for anyone who appreciates fine jewelry. Although there are no readable purity stamps, the metal has been independently tested as Sterling Silver. This beautiful size 6.25 vintage ring weighs approximately 5.77 grams and is in excellent condition, displaying a pleasant patina typical of its age. The hands measure approximately 11.1 mm wide, and the bands 3.5 mm wide as worn.

This general design dates back to the Romans and was used through the medieval and renaissance eras, then was re-popularized in the 1800s, with a resurgence around WWII. The joining of 2 hands symbolizes love, friendship, faith, and fidelity. The word 'Fede' comes from Italian and means 'trust' or 'fidelity' while 'Gimmel' originates in the Latin 'gemellus' meaning 'twin', now used to describe 2 or 3 interlocking bands.
