This exquisite vintage ring features a stunning natural Turquoise cabochon from the Dyer Blue Mine, bezel set in a beautifully crafted Sterling Silver mounting. The flecks of Pyrite and variations in the blue color of the gemstone add a touch of mystery to the ring, making it a perfect statement piece for any jewelry collection. Although unstamped, this size 6 ring has been independently tested as Sterling Silver, weighs approximately 7.16 grams, and has a Native American style to it, but we cannot attribute it to any specific Silversmith or Tribe. The top of the ring is 26.9 mm at its longest, tapering to 2.8 mm at the bottom of the band. The ring displays a dark patina typical of its age and has been cleaned but not polished.
Turquoise, an ancient and revered gemstone, is celebrated for its distinctive blue-green hues, ranging from sky blue to vibrant green. This opaque mineral, a hydrated phosphate of copper and aluminum, often features intricate matrix patterns, adding to its unique character. With a hardness of 5 to 6 on the Mohs scale, it's relatively soft, requiring gentle care. Historically significant in many cultures, particularly in Native American traditions, Turquoise is valued for its beauty and perceived protective qualities.
